The staff was superb. They made my stay comfortable & ran it like clockwork. The disclaimer they told me at checkin went like this: "... we are a university & teaching hospital ..." I've never felt so well taken care of.
3 years ago I had surgery to remove 2 cysts from left ovary and endometriosis. In July 2016, i found that the cyst returned and the endometriosis was getting worse. Dr. Harkins suggested a partial hysterectomy (remove cervix, uterus, left ovary and both flopian tubes). On 11/29/16 I had the surgery, Dr. Harkins found severe endometriosis on my left side (all over bowel and actually inside left ovary). He said my right ovary was perfect and left that one so I don't go through early mentopause. Dr. Harkins is excellent!
Considering the circumstances of my being there, the doctors, nurses even the cafeteria is a great place. Not only a good place, but good hearts :)
Hershey Medical, doctor and nurses have been very helpful with my Multiple Sclerosis. There aren't many doctors where I live at that are specialized in this area and I am grateful for Hershey Medical to help me out.
My husband and I had to bring our 2 year old daughter in last Friday, November 25 because she had fallen down some stairs. Despite 2 triage nurses that got annoyed with our daughter for being frightened by all the commotion and poking & prodding upon check-in, everyone else was wonderful. We did have to wait quite a while but you could tell everyone was doing their best. My husband even asked the receptionist how much longer we would have to wait (we know that question has GOT to get old) and not only did she not get annoyed... read more
The wait in the ER waiting was entirely too long. The resident/intern radiologist misread the scan stating that my son did not have a kidney stone that his pain was due to colitis. He received a call at home from a second radiologist who admitted that the first had misread the scan. The whole experience was totally unsatisfactory.
I was in Hershey on November 16th for a liver transplant this was my 7th call and my wife and I were sitting in the room waiting to hear if the liver was good or not. On that day I was taken into surgery. I was so nervous however every one from the nurses to the transplant team and everyone involved in my surgery made me feel a ease. I just want to thank everyone for helping me to recover and to be able to be at home and recovering very well. Thanks a million
