I've always had good experiences with HMC until this last visit. My son was just there end of this last week. He was admitted but we had to stay in the ER since all beds were full. Which is ok we understand. The thing is he never got a food tray thankfully my mother brought us food. Also there was a nurse that out right lied to the Drs and the next nurse coming on shift. So very unprofessional. All the Drs that took care of my baby were great and want to give a shout out to the RN Megan she was really nice and helpful.

We took our daughter there today for a procedure. The staff was Amazing. Friendly. Thoughtful. Patient. Kind. Comforting. Genuine. And I hope they know, Appreciated. Thank you. And a special Thank you to Alicia, our Child Life Specialist. We were so lucky to have you on Caiylin's team today. The smiles and genuine care you showed for her today was priceless. Thank you. My 2 year old daughter came in for ear tubes this morning and everyone was amazing with her. She was well taken care of from the time we stepped foot in the door at her first appointment. We are very happy with the care she received. Thank you to everyone involved in her care!

I arrived at 0220 2/20/15.... The shift I was in was horrible. My perception was that the only nurse working was mine. She was awesome, her name was Teresa, I cannot say the same about her team, anytime I would use the call bell all I received was attitude and no one ever came. We asked for a cup of ice after an hour waiting I took it upon my self and got it. The I called for the urin sample and no one ever came for it. My son has been a patient in Pediatric Radiology twice in the past 2 weeks and today had a Radiology procedure done. The team was incredibly professional and welcoming. They made my husband and I feel at home and took extra time to answer our questions. Most importantly, they treated our son as if he was their own. Great experience... we are thankful he is followed at Penn State!

The people in this place are all extremely nice from nurses to the housekeepers... The doctors and nurses in the er and children PEDs center is absolutely amazing keep up the good work I wish the hospital would take lessons from hershey.... Thank u again for doing amazing job

The Doctors are generally good. That is not the problem with Hershey Med. The problem is that they are not upfront on their charges. They tell you they want you to come to them as to a family doctor and they charged me a standard $25.00 co-pay. Sounds good. Except that a month later they send me a bill for $95.00. The insurance company told me that this had nothing to do with my treatment - that was covered. This was a "FACILTY CHARGE" - you get charged this amount each and every time. My son Jaden was flown by chopper from another hospital to Hershey Medical Center's pediatric ICU. He has downs syndrome and was afraid and my husband and I were afraid. We arrived and we're greeted by Dr Lucking and his team of doctors and nurses. They were amazing. He was purple when we got here and within 15 minutes he was pink again and on an IV, oxygen, heart monitor and medicated with everything he needed to get well...he had fluid on his lungs/pulmonary edema and pneumonia from complications of a tonsillectomy done at... read more
