Received an offer through credit karma. Started the LONG application process and fulfilling the required documents for the application. I was supposedly pre-approved for a great interest rate and payment plan, however, after their final verification process, my rate and terms changed drastically. To me it was a bait and switch. I cannot recommend this company.

Payoff gets you your money fast, but makes it nearly impossible to pay off your loan early. Avoid them at all costs. My story: I paid off my total balance on my loan on 9/16/2020. I was told that it was the total balance, that it had been paid in full, and that the online portal should reflect this change in 3 - 5 days. I have all that in writing from "Jessica at Payoff"... Ridiculous. Charge $50 a month in interest which would be fine if they didn't make making payments so ridiculously difficult. They PURPOSELY block out two weeks out from the day you try to make a payment so they can keep collecting that interest. I specifically chose this service so that I could pay off my loans faster but now I just wish I had left it all on my credit card. At least they didn't make it so hard to make payments! I'd stay away. Look for a balance transfer credit card instead.

I paid off my loan early. They're sending me late notices, refuse to accept calls, do not to respond to email, and their website has been broken for months. I'm handing this over to my attorney today.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND EFFORT ON THIS COMPANY!!! Payoff.com has the worst customer service available that I've ever experienced. Hold times range from 45 minutes up to an hour and 30 minutes, just to get to someone on the line who can't even help you. They offer you an alternative to send an email to success at payoff.com vs waiting on hold, but no one ever responds from that email address. As others have said here and on other sites STAY FAR AWAY from this company. Absolutely horrible customer service. Good luck getting anyone on the phone or on chat. Will say you're pre-approved for a much lower rate, string you along for nearly a week make you resubmit the same paperwork (in my case paystubs) over and over and over. Then finally after all that I got a message from them that I have "new" offers now that are now wanting to charge a rate AT LEAST TWICE as much as the original rate I was pre-approved for. I’ve been trying to pay off a loan for weeks now to no available. I finally made the payment Based on the payoff amount and now I’m told I owe more. Unfortunately I’m not able to pay off the loan until I speak with someone and they are not answering emails or calls and return you are still incurring interests. It’s unethical and unfair. They are signing people up by the masses but don’t have the bandwidth to deal with payments to close (clearly they don’t want you to). This is is highway robbery. When I first started the process to get my rating, I got many emails asking me to finish my application, reminding me how much I could save... I have a very very good credit score and was not expecting the lack of contact after finishing my application. Bug thing that bothered me was them requiring me to link my bank accounts so they could look at my history...needless to say I have since had to change all of my passwords and monitor my credit bureaus. Hello, This company is nothing short of horrific! I received a loan from them and have never missed a payment always on time. I wanted to pay a little extra each month to get this loan paid off and they make it EXTREMELY difficult. You can not pay anything extra on the loan unless you mail in a separate check after you make the payment online. I’ve spent up to 122 minutes on hold when calling in to speak to someone.
