great deal, easy access fro freeway, very friendly staff. Plus you get tp borrow their truck for free when you move!
If you are a student at Berkeley OR a parent of said student, or for that matter, anyone living in close proximity to Richmond, and you need self storage, I highly recommend Payless. Their prices are beyond fair and they are extremely accommodating. Their staff are professional and helpful. We stored our son's stuff for 3 months over this summer and getting it to and from Payless to Berkeley couldn't have been easier.

We started renting a 10'x10' in March 2011. We were given a special move-in discount rate and a Free Truck. Over our entire time of renting at this facility, we have experience the kindest and helpful customer service from the Manager, Shale and his other staff.I would highly recommend this place to all. We have had nothing but a great experience.
This is hands down the best storage location I've ever used! For the past few months, we have been between houses and needed to store two bedrooms, kitchen, living room, dining room, etc. From the first contact, the office staff was super friendly and helpful. The manager went out of his way for us on multiple occasions. When we found out that we had more stuff than we thought, he easily switched us up to the next unit size. I just moved to the bay area from Fresno and I had that Ahhh haaa moment of an experience with PayLess yesterday. I cant say enough great things about the customer service that I received. I had a great experience storing my things at Payless Self Storage in Richmond, CA! The manager, Shale is AWESOME!! He is always so helpful, welcoming and positive! The place is never crowded so I was able to spend time organizing things in my 2 units without people annoyed that I had things in the hallway a few minutes (as has happened in crowded storage unit sites), I always felt safe there even after hours. Payless Self Storage is amazing. Safe clean and well maintained. The staff are wonderful people. They really helped me through a tough time. I have rented storage and a truck and bought boxes. It's so great to have all these services in one place.
