Inspired by the farms, vineyards and waters of the Pacific Northwest, we at Pastini are dedicated to serving up two of life's greatest pleasures... pasta and wine. We love how a steaming bowl of pasta warms your hands as well as your spirits. We love the sound a cork makes when it nudges away from the bottle. Using responsibly sourced ingredients, we craft craveable dishes with a local sensibility that is true to our roots. Our thoughtfully curated wine list celebrates both stellar Northwest wineries, and small family-owned ... read more

overcooked, overpriced, over it – As the mother of two young children, I so wanted to like this local place. I've tried it 3 seperate times, but I refuse to lower my standards this much. Pasta is consistently overcooked. Sauces are watery and minimalist, with almost no flavor. Pasta with tomato and fresh basil seemed to have 2 tablespoons of flavorless chopped tomato and one slivered basil leaf on it, oh, and a puddle of water at the bottom of the bowl. The prices, while "low", are still ridiculously high for what is set bef... read more
Not Good – Our dining experience was very disappointing. The food was bland and the meat in the meat sauce was extremely dry. Cesear salad was weak as well. The highlight of our meal was the beer and the bread, and according to the menu the bread actually came from the Pearl Bakery. I am amazed at the postive reviews this place has received on this site.
overall dissapointment – I went in to Pastini with my two daughters the other night and came out feeling very dissapointed with both the service, and the food. None of our pastas were cooked correctly and the sauces were bland. The service was not up to parr either; my waitress seemed a bit edgy. I had been into the 23rd location of Pastini two other times, and both those times were just O.K. Nothing to rave about.
"Step AWAY from the CHAIN RESTAURANT!"... and eat at Pastini's!! – Pastini's is my favorite restaurant in the Lloyd district............This is where to go when you want fabulous Italian cooking and a comfortable casual atmosphere. The recipies are delicious... many great dishes to choose from. I absolutely LOVE the bread... it's just perfect. If it's not lunch time (or maybe if it is!!), don't forget a glass of Chianti. If you care about price then you have nothing to worry about here. Well done Pastini's!
Business response:
We appreciate and value all of the feedback we receive from customers. Thank you!
Still pumping out soulful pasta for appreciative Irvingtonites and the too-beat-to-cook white-collar crowd. – In Short The bustling dining room with high ceilings, vintage Italian ad posters and a partially open kitchen has all the elements of a neighborhood favorite. Starters include a bountiful antipasto platter stacked with salamis and cheeses or grilled veggies. A long list of pastas is split between traditional dishes like the rigatoni with beefy bolognese and more creative bowls like the delectable corkscrew pasta with... read more
Good, cheap Italian – I've been going to Pastini's since it opened and it has been one of my favorites since. I think any comparison of Pastini's to Olive Garden is completely off base. Pastini's doesn't overwhelm you with sauce, and feels much more like a home cooked meal. I agree that the bread is not so great, so I think it's good that they don't serve a whole basket of it. I'd rather pay less for my meal than have that thrown in.
Pastini=Olive Garden – Although the service was very friendly and the restaurant was clean, it just reminded me too much of the Olive Garden. The servings were adequate at best and the food was good, but nothing about the standard Italian food that could served from Sandy to Canby. A good deal for the price and the take out service is great when your tired and hungry.
A "must try" in NE Portland – I've been here several times, the food is always wonderful, they have all of the normal Italian dishes, and some other interesting combinations as well. It is a good family place, with the noise, you do not have to worry about kids talking to loud. It could be good for groups if you call ahead. Downside, it is usually crowded, but do you really want to go to a restaurant that is always empty?Parking is not very good.
Excellent! – I'm very glad I found this place! The food is delicious and flavorful, the staff is friendly and open, the atmosphere is very intimate, and for what you get, the price is the best aspect of this place. It's a GREAT place for a first date, whether you are a teenager or a business executive. 10.5 out of 10!
