This small, somewhat eccentric café is a local favorite. The décor is certainly part of the café's charm- bright primary colors abound, the thrift store furniture is mismatched; mannequins, dolls and other toys decorate the window sills, walls and even the ceiling. But it's the food that keeps the locals coming back. It's a terrific blend of traditional home cooking and lighter vegetarian fare. The French toast (served all day) is one of the city's treasures.

I was part of a party of 3 today. The owner was rude and unwelcoming. The waitstaff employees were rude too. We were basically asked to leave because they wanted our table, so we felt rushed. I’ve been a customer for 25 years, but not after today. Also, the food was mediocre and over-priced.
After waiting 30 minutes to be seated (didn’t mind that, knew there was a wait) it took another 45 minutes for food after ordering, only to receive burnt toast, followed by the bill being placed on our table literally less than a minute after the food arrived. Had to chase down staff for coffee refills. Service was meh at best, food was decent, except the char I had to scrape off the toast.
