It's such amazing place! I am a Texan I can't believe I have waited so long to see the magnificent park. The colors were incredible, all the beautiful wild flowers and foliage makes it even more amazing. Seeing the rock formations, peaks, spainish skirts, caves, hoods, canyon walls and the mesas so interesting. The near by town of Canyon is the friendliest town in Texas. Highly recommended a trip to Palo Duro Canyon. J Powell
We went horseback riding for the afternoon and hit some of the pull-off points. I wish we could have stayed longer to do more hiking. The staff was great at Old West Stables, but a little slow and disorganized elsewhere in the park.

A hidden diamond in the Texas panhandle.
Beautiful canyon, great trails that are well marked every tenth of a mile (at least on the Lighthouse and GSL trails) Was a bit confused and later disappointed when the Lighthouse trail ended with a sign saying “end of trail”. Judging by photos I saw later, people continue on an undeveloped section for great views of the lighthouse. Views on the GSL trail were fabulous, however. It is beautiful. I feel like i am one with nature while there.
This was an amazing trip for me and my kids. Our first adventure together as a threesome. Can't wait for more adventures.
