Redstone Castle is the former home of Colorado Fuel and Iron Company's founder John Cleveland Osgood. Following Osgood's demise in 1926, his third wife Lucille attempted to convert it into a resort but was met with failure. The entire estate sprawls across 150 acres (60.7 hectares) of land. The castle was designed by Theodore Boal in the Tudor style. Spread over 24,000 square feet (2,200 square meters), this vast mansion houses 42 rooms. Renowned names like John D. Enjoyed a great tour and exceptional hospitality from the property managers this past Saturday. Very interesting story and history of this gorgeous property. I was amazed to get to see so many original furniture and decor pieces still in use today. Well worth the time and $!! Thank you!

Pete was warm, friendly and knowledgeable. His passion for the history of the castle was evident from the moment we met him. We loved learning about the history of the area and so many details that one can only learn from spending time in the castle, taking a peek into the past and walking the grounds. By the end of our time there we felt like family. Each room has been lovingly restored with so much attention to detail. A stay in one of the historic rooms is a must do. This will not be our last visit!

What an amazing tour! We've toured lots of famous homes, but not with the intimacy offered here. Great stories. Lots of detail. And yet with all it's "castle-ness", still very homey, like a family member just showed me his house. We'd love to go back and stay for the night in Teddy Roosevelt's room! The whole house is gorgeously decorated with a mix of olden days and modern design. Perfect.
