Wild west comes alive :)
Friendly, accommodating staff; delightful, vintage atmosphere; and where else can you ride on a train pulled by a steam engine? A worthwhile, 30-45 minute diversion, and great photography opportunity. Both Tavares and Mt. Dora have (touristy) lunch spots so you can take the train from either town, spend a while at the other town eating, and return to your car on the train. Call ahead to make sure the steam engine is operating (no offense to the diesel, but it's not the same)!
Our family rode the 5:00 train this evening with much anticipation and excitement as we had been on the train before. We were greatly disappointed and let down after our experience tonight. Cool experience! The whole family had a great time!
Business response:
Glad you all had a good time. Thank you and Merry Christmas from the Orange Blossom Cannonball crew!

Extremely disappointed. Maybe ok for toddlers but not a 5 year old. There is much room for improvement. There is no comparison to the Polar Express out of Eustis that I went on a few years ago.
Business response:
The Inland Lakes RR that ran the Polar Express out of Eustis is out of business. The Tavares Eustis &Gulf RR runs the Santa Christmas Express. We are not trying to compete with the Polar Express, but we are trying to give families a memorable holiday experience. We are sorry that you did not enjoy the Santa Christmas Express.
Had a great time!
