Im here now with my 4month old baby and the Staff is nice and friendly. I have a awesome Nurse Kelsey. Shes supper nice and makes me feel comfortable.
We are new to OHSU and are so happy to be finding doctors that care and treat our son so well.
Our daughter was life flighted from Bend to Doernbecher 7 years ago... with the odds against us, we spent 32 out of our 36 heart wrenching days in the PICU. The staff became more like family. Knowing we weren't alone and someone was always right outside the door if anything was needed made our days and nights that much easier. I am and will forever be thankful to EVERYONE who was with us during our care. My experience with most staff has been amazing. Other than 2 picu nurses who seemed more concerned with getting things done instead of making sure my daughter, who just had brain surgery was being well taken care of. 1 nurse was just rude and the other nurse was kind of forcing her to tell him what she wanted and needed. This was 1 hr after surgery and she just had her breathing tube removed but was still groggy and tired. He said if she didn't tell him what she wanted he wouldn't know what to do. Doernbechers is the best! My daughter has been getting seen here since she was 5 and needed her first surgery for REFLUX. A year later for her post check up, they found another problem and she had to, yet again, have another surgery-this time for a tethered spine. She's now a healthy girl, and will be 12 next month. She has some minor problems from her REFLUX from time to time that she gets checked for, but nothing too serious, and they have gotten to know us pretty well.
