I love the fact that the majority of staff at Doernbecher fully interact with and respect the children they treat. I don't see that a lot. Most places we have been to, the child is talked about to the parents, right in front of the child, instead of including the child.
Great service other than the fact that the nurses kept referring to the doctors as "that Asian guy". It happened by three different staff. How about saying "the doctor who was just here" or "the doctor who is performing your surgery"..? Why does everything have to be so racial? Other than that, the staff that were assigned to the room were great and very helpful. Even the IV tech was like "the Asian girl". It was uncomfortable. White staff need to learn to identify people without reducing them to their race

My son was born at Doernbecher one month ago and I have had nothing but good experiences. We had to stay the night last night due to him having a fever and they could not have been more kind. They are always eager to help and keep you updated with what's going on. My baby is home now and feeling better and it's all thanks to them! ❤️
I can't say enough great things about the care we always receive here at Doernbecher! They are always so kind, thoughtful and efficient! My kiddos are always treated amazing. So appreciative of excellent care! Thank you Doernbecher!

The staff was great with my daughter when she went in for her cystic fibrosis test. They made sure her and us where apart informed. They were great at calming her nerves as well as ours. The test takes a while so they let her make bracelets and keychains while we waited. Both our children have medical problems and this is the best children's hospital we have been at by far. The ER side on the other hand is a joke. Her Dr sent us down then made us feel stupid for doing as he instucted. They didn't do a thing to help her pain ... read more
