I can't say that I have visited many children's hospital. I can give you the reason I gave them 5 stars. We had a very long day if testing for my 3 year old daughter who has autistic traits. Dr appointments or offices that look like them have always been an issue for her at the door. So we just dreaded the whole day starting with the 5hr drive there. But when we walked in it was amazing everything was welcoming and kid friendly!! The first person called her name she came out with energy and fun. My daughter just ate it up!. ... read more

I have always received both excellent and compassionate care from the staff at Casey. Dr. Lauer performed emergency surgery for a detached retina with multiple tears. He was most professional and explained everything in detail and in an understandable way. His follow up care had been conservative- due to a personal and family history that puts me at high risk- but he saved my vision so I'm ok with that! Dr. Alex Ortega Loayza is the best! He's the first of the three dermatologists I've gone to in PDX that has nailed down the best treatment for my psoriasis. Three months later I'm almost cleared up. I'm extremely happy with the results. Not only he's a good professional, but also he's has great bedside manners.
My son his tonsils and adenoids removed and tubes put in his ears. The surgeon nurses were very thorough in explaining all and procedures. They also helped assist my son in his anxiety as well as kept him occupied and comfortable. The nurse continues assisting me with advice during his recovery. Thank You Doernbecher Children's hospital!
