We stayed here recently and definitely recommend it, especially if traveling by car- it was super convenient to have free parking. The room was simple and very clean. The only thing I really wish our room had had was a mini fridge and/or microwave, but the room definitely covered the bare minimum needed.
RecommendedIt’s cozy, historic, and the staff is very nice. It’s clean and updated, even the soaps the use don’t suck. Things I didn’t like , the fact that the temperature is controlled by the office, and there is no free breakfast

When arriving to the hotel our booking was lost. The receptionist did not handle the situation well. She prioritized finding the errors of their system instead of helping us, making us wait for several hours. She did not help us in finding a new hotel, but instead made us talk to someone from hotels com. After quite a while we managed to book another hotel with the help of hotels com, however the hotel was quite a bit outside the city and we hade to pay for the difference and transportation as well.
Best choice for a short trip to Chicago �
A big shout out to Edgar and his staff! What a great place to stay in Chicago! Very close to I80 and I94. Free parking and right downtown. We walked to everything. Rooms are immaculate and recently renovated. Where else can you sit out in your balcony in downtown Chicago? Will be returning and recommending to all my friends.
