After driving 12 hours from DC to Chicago and arriving at 8am, our luxury hotel refused to let us check in. Ohio House made up a roof for us in a flash and let us stay at a reduced rate.
Great location, loved the free parking. Close to buses, L train and restaurants. Free breakfast vouchers if you book online (gratuity not included), restaurant is caddy-corner from the motel and easy to find. Beds were comfortable, our family of 4 felt secure. Bathrooms were small but clean and got the job done. Only recommendation to staff is to do something with the outside doors so they don't slam as loudly when they swing shut on their own when people go in/out (different hinge that closes more slowly?). Awful. Got here early & checked in that was fine. Went to Thanksgiving dinner at my son’s house. Came back & now no where to park! Why would they give out more parking passes then spots!!! Absolutely ridiculous. I booked the room 2 months ago & it was not cheap. Will never stay here again when visiting Chicago!!!
My boyfriend and I stayed for two nights during the week, and we were both pleasantly surprised with the Ohio House. The sheets were soft, bed was comfortable, pillows were nice, and towels were much better than I expected. For the price and location, you can’t beat this place. The free parking sealed the deal for me, and we didn’t have a problem getting a spot. I’d imagine on a weekend or during the summer that might not be the case, but for us it was perfect. 👍🏼👍🏼
Cute, retro place in a fantastic location. We weren't planning to spend much time in/at our room, so their basic accommodations worked perfect...as did the free parking!
fantastic place, cozy, helpful staff, rooms nice and clean, we had a fridge, a microwave and it is so close to downtown, most of the attractions. if we ever go back to Chicago we will deffinitely stay there.
