Ochsner's admit and patient services are the pits. We have been waiting for a room for more than 3hours and NO ROOM as of yet. When we came to the admit area thete were two people waiting. A procedure is scheduled for tomorrow morning. It looks like we will go from the admit area to the procedure area. They keep saying they are cleaning a room. Just picked my mom up from the step down unit. Before step down she spent 2 nights in neuro ICU. This was following a transfer from MMC in North Louisiana. Both hospitals took EXCELLENT care of her. Because of the wonderful care and attention to detail, my mom is walking on her own, using both arms freely, and speaking clearly after she had a stroke Wednesday evening. I had the worst experience of my life Easter Sunday in the emergency room at the WestBank location. Two nurses Kyle and Dawn were complete bitches, rude, and disrespectful. Dawn asked personal questions to me in the waiting area!!!!!! All of my doctors are with Ochsner and I'm seriously about to change all my doctors because of this horrible, embarrassing, traumatizing experience!
This is the BEST hospital in the world! Thank you to Dr. Blaize and staff for saving my son's life. The best medical and ancillary staff are at Ochsner. GOD BLESS YOU!

Ochsner prides itself on being the top ranked facility in the state and yet they are in violation of Hipaa laws when they still have semi private rooms. My mom is next to a pain medication junkie who has moaned and groaned and kept her awake all night. Her husband or father has been saying racial slurs at the TV and cursing and fighting with the patient all night. My Inlaw was referred to cardiovascular/heart dept from Tennessee. It was a complicated case. Her exspearance was great . Her referring MD was pleased as well. They were accomadating regarding her insurance,which was not that good. She has been back twice for follow up and it went well. She could not be more pleased. Some of the Lpn/ RN were a little surly,but that is to be expected at the end of a shift. Brent house staff was great.
