Nice place to visit for historical purposes,I was able to feel the spirits of my ancestors, and it was not a good feeling.
My second trip to the Oak Alley Plantation and it was definitely another visit to be remembered for a long time to come. The tour guide was excellent and gave very good historical account of the house and plantation. Mint julep added to the experience too! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a piece of history on antebellum houses and plantation living.
Oak Alley was beautiful.....all the staff were wonderful and our tour guide was so informative. Would definitely love to stay in one of the small cottages next time we visit this area.
Had a great time and What an amazing property. Wish it was mine. If you have some extra time and are driving yourself, take a picnic lunch and sit under the the trees.
The tour was very informative and the grounds are just so majestic!! This was my 2nd time here and I would definitely come back!
Wasn't really sure what to expect and was amazed and the beauty at oak alley! We are breakfast there that morning and it was delicious! Hats off to the chef. Then we toured the grounds and big house and wow! It was stunning! The buildings have tons of history but the trees....breath taking! Amazing place and I can't wait to come back and bring my kids!! Phenomenal!
Tom was the BEST tour guide!! Loved all the backstory information on the occupants etc. Beautiful plantation built almost exclusively by slave labor. That's the shameful sad part of its history but the 28 majestic oaks lining the pathway to the house are beautiful.
It's amazing! Even more spectacular than he photographs!!
My husband and I went for my Birthday weekend and it was ABSOLUTELY breathtaking!!! The live oaks were magnificent...we will be back!!!
