Intimate Concerts I really enjoyed the show I saw at this venue. Its very small so it makes an intimate setting for up and coming bands. Its standing room only and they have a cool balcony that looks directly down on the band. They have a good sound system, however the venue is not in the best part of the city.

Used to see shows here all the time I used to go here to see shows, and I saw many great bands here, but it definitely seems like the booking has changed quite a bit. Their selection of beers isn't the greatest in the city. But if you're looking for convenience in the museum area of the city, this is the spot.

I used to love to hear music here I used to love to hear music here, but there booking has changed quite a bit and they don't have as good of a local band flavor as before. If you're not there for the music, the front bar small and cozy and not a bad place to hang out.

could be better This place used to be a lot better than it is now. They used to get a lot of great bands, but I think Johnny Brenda's came along and snagged them all up. Their selection of beers could use an improvement. Now, it just seems to be a hangout spot for people in the art museum area.

heard such good things... – Went here for dinner tonight with two friends of mine because we couldn't think of anything to do for dinner and had heard great things about the north star bar. Got a lot of funny looks as we walked in and our waitress treated us like we weren't cool or hipster enough to be eating there. Wouldn't recommend anything on the menu that wasn't vegetarian because she doesn't eat meat, even when we asked which were the popular choices. nice beers on tap North Star Bar!! Great Bar and great music. They serve easy food like sandwiches. It's a good place to meet friends or just hang out. I recommend going here for a night out.

I adore you North Star! – I love this venue! I go to the North Star all the time, it's truly a staple in my favorite rock n roll memories. I've been there for Mudhoney, to DickDale, to Say Anything, Street Dogs and White Stripes. They have honestly grabbed a hold of the rock n roll scene over the past 8 years or so and I hope they don't let go! I'm not going to lie, I like the bar food too. AVOID – WE HAD A VERY BAD EXPERIENCE AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT, BUT WHEN WE TRIED TO EXPLAIN IT ON THIS WEBSITE, IT WOULD NOT ALLOW ANY NEGATIVE WORDS. HOPEFULLY THIS WILL WORK. BASICALLY THE MANAGERIAL STAFF WAS DISRESPECTFUL TO BAND MEMBERS WHO WERE SCHEDULED TO PLAY THAT NIGHT. A BAND MEMBER WAS NOT ALLOWED TO RE-ENTER THE BAR BECAUSE HE WAS SMOKING TOO CLOSE TO THE FRONT DOOR. MANY PEOPLE LOST MONEY ON COVER CHARGE AND DRINKS. Employees = douchebags – I just wanted to say that my band recently opened at the Northstar and we were all extremely excited about playing here. UNFORTUNATLEY, from the moment we came in, EVERY single person that worked there was a complete DOUCHEBAG to us for absolutley no reason. The bouncer was a fat piece of sh*t who wouldnt leave us alone and all we wanted to do was play some music and have a couple brews. Unless im gettin paid alot of money i dont plan to come to this place again
