I can’t believe I haven’t done this yet. Since 2006, I’ve had somewhere around 10 instruments with Nordstrand pickups/preamps in them, and as of this writing, I’ve got one more on the way. I'm a proud owner of a Sandberg Bullet Booster bubinga limited edition 4 strings bass fitted with soapbar pickups from the shop that I didn't like the tone of. I prefer single-coils tone over soapbar in my basses anyway and searched the net for a pickup manufacturer that would offer a replacement. I've found that Nordstrand Audio offered one wich they call the "Jazz Bar 4" and decided to take a chance... Am I happy I did!
