Good for Groups – Went to lunch here with a large group (20+ individuals). The upstairs room was adequate for our group. The food was inexpensive.
Pub food as it SHOULD be – I have never been disappointed here. Sometimes the burgers seem small, but they are outstanding. Entrees (except for the Jambalaya - leave it for the Cajuns to do) have always been good. The Grog is a first rate brew.
a great place only getting better... – Where do I start. Very Accommodating! – I had called on a Friday and made a reservation for 10 people for 7 o'clock on Saturday night. We showed up, our table was ready, and our waiter was great!! Two more friends joined our party unexpectedly, and they added another table - no problem! Great service, good food, and good beer. We spent a solid two hours there, and never felt rushed. Highly recommended!
Horriblly slooooow service – A group of 6 of us ate here last night. The waitress repeatedly forgot our drink orders and we waited about 1 HOUR for our food. Burgers and salads do not take that long to cook, so that means they didn't even start cooking our food for 50 minutes. It was not very busy either at the time so that is not an excuse. To top it off they charged us 18% gratuity. too bad because I would have left half of that. The food was OK at best but we were so mad that it ruined our night.
Noisy – Much too noisy. Go downstairs to the Oyster Bar, you'll pay a little more but you can actually talk to the people beside you.
watch out for the waitress – i like the place for an after hours joint but the waitress there is a table nazi, if the bar and lounge are jammed packed and the table are all empty the'll stay that way.....
Good Food, Good Beer – I just ate at Nodding Head and I was impressed with the food and beer. The hamburger I had was so juicy (huge mushrooms, peppers, and large burger as well). The fries were delicious. They tasted like authentic frites from Belgium (even had the sauce they serve it with). The tart European beer on draft was exactly what I was looking for.
