NYP-Queens Emergency Room has a fundamental lack of understanding of how to treat Geriatric patients. My mom was admitted with a fall which then spiraled into an 8-day stay for COPD / CHF, greatly influenced. the ED’s incompetence . This place is appalling. Ignore you for hours at a time, do not give medications when scheduled, disregard patients entirely. I would never attend this hospital ever again, and I strongly suggest you don’t bring anyone you love or care about here. Some nurses are great but most don’t care about their job and don’t deserve it either. What a disappointing hospital. I felt bad asking for my medicine, or for water. My great aunt suffered a stroke and we rushed her to this hospital around 10pm. We were taken in and put in front of the doctors with haste but none of them spoke Mandarin so I translated alongside the translator, who telephoned in through a mobile computer screen.
