RecommendedWith all the storms we have been having I was always worried for my mom and dad. Today my mom told me to look into above ground shelters for them since my dad can't walk very well. Got my shelter installed today..I cannot stress enough the superior customer service Dirk provided. From my very first inquiry to the installation I couldn't have been more impressed. The install took less than an hour then Dirk went over everything with us. Couldn't have done business with a more knowledgeable, professional and genuinely nice guy. Loved the install, perfect place, only 2 scares since last year. Better to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it....
Thankfully, I cannot speak for this shelter holding up to a tornado since we have not experienced sever weather since it was installed. We wanted something with a small "footprint" that would still hold our little family of two people, a cat and an Akita. This shelter is perfect for our needs. We are very pleased with our New Day Tornado Shelter. It doesn't take up much room in our garage and looks great. We've had to use it several times since it's installation last year and it was very comforting having a safe place to go. Dirk was fantastic to work with.

We had a New Day Tornado Shelter installed last year around the 4th of July by Dirk and his son Gabe. The total time for the installation was about 45 mins. They did a great job on the install, which we had it installed in the garage. We moved from a house with a basement in SD to a cabin in ND without a basement.
