We made a reservation for an infant carrier with our rental and called in advance to confirm one would be available. Yet when we arrived, we were told there weren't any on the premises. This is a problem because 1) National is putting children's lives in danger by not fulfilling their agreements 2) they made no attempt to notify me when it was clear they knew they had no car seats 3) Instead of sending someone out to buy or arrange to secure an additional car seat, the associate I spoke with suggested we drive to Walmart ill... read more

I got the last minute rate, and it was reasonable. When I went to the counter in Detroit, I encountered a lady representative who was very unpleasant. She went through the motion of paperwork like I owed her something. She tried to sell me an upgrade which I didn't take. When done, an escort took us to the car. His name is Joe, I believe. He was just the opposite of that lady behind the counter. He was polite, friendly, and extremely helpful. When returned, nothing unusual happened.

My service was absolutely horrible. The clerk at turn in tried charging me $400 for a reservation my company reserved for $120. when I showed her the reservation she refused to fix it and I went to the office and they didn't help. It took days of me calling to get the account properly charged. They still charge me an additional $22 on my personal card for a service that was included on my company original reservation. National Car rental at the Detroit, MI airport is excellent. All the car rental companies there bus you over to their facilities. National drivers are polite and give you the information you need without providing too much information. When you return your car, drivers like "Linda" actually wait for you so you do not have to run to catch the bus or miss your flight. It is greatly appreciated.

I have used National a lot this summer. Most of the experiences have been okay. The selection there is awesome...I've been able to rent my preferential vehicle almost every time, and the one time I wasn't, I got a comparable car. Most of the employees there are good. Very friendly and quick to help. My biggest complaint has to do with the shuttle which connects the rental center to the airport. There have been times that I've had to wait at the curbside of the airport for around 20 minutes waiting for the bus to show up. And... read more

We boarded the National bus at the Detroit Metro airport after only a five minute wait. Arriving at the National lot we were greeting by a customer service representative who identified the cars we could select. The selection was large and the cars very clean. The check out process took less than a minute. The return process was very fast as well and all employees were customer focused. Good job National employees.
