RecommendedIt's easy to rent here, I have been using National for almost 20 years. Lately the variety of cars has been pretty slim pickings. With so few travelers these days, I would think they would be better stocked. But as always just jump in and go.
Clean cars in sound operating condition. Good service experience at competitive prices.
The worst part of my travel experience, including airport, airplane and car rental, was the car rental terminal bus. Long wait, crowded, no social distancing, people without masks, non-renters using the bus just to get to the MBTA station. You could see and feel that most people on the bus were as uncomfortable as I was. One star.
Cars were ready to go, return was very quick and easy. However, they did not have the type of car I requested. I'm not crazy about driving a Camry.
The ability to pick the car you like and each person we have dealt with in person and on the phone have been very helpful!
National makes it easy to reserve, pick up and drop off a rental car. The Emerald Club is great. You just walk out and pick out a car, stop at the gate and drive off. The cars are always new models and very clean.
We just rented a car yesterday that had horrible brakes and had to take it back to the airport today. We get a Nissan Armada that we weren’t given the key for which we don’t realize u til we get to our hotel and tuen the car off. We request immediately for a key and it’s now been 6 hours that we have been waiting and we are 10 min from the airport. We are stuck in a parking garage with low clearance and NO ONE at Boston Logan is answering!!!!!! So aggravating!!! We won’t be paying for this rental
I have used National Car Rental on numerous occasions, most recently picking up at Logan Airport (Boston) and dropping off at Albany Int'l Airport. I have found that their staff is very friendly, helpful and professional. Sam at Albany Airport exemplifies this. Additionally, the vehicles are clean and appear well-maintained, and I actually found an operator's manual in my most recent rental. I would definitely recommend National, and will continue to use them.

The National staff at the Boston Logan Airport center are outstanding, especially the woman with the headscarf, who takes special care of me whenever I come to Boston. She makes sure to help me find a car that she knows I will like.
