Never thought it would be this fast I walked in because my X220 wasn't powering on. I thought the motherboard was shot. The guy took a quick look, waived his hand and it was fixed. (Almost like that). Anyways, he said have a nice day and I was gone.

Decent place for high end notebooks. I needed a beast for a cad project and nothing at BBuy, Frys etc would cut it. These guys had a lenovo thinkpad workstation that fit the bill. It was nice to actually touch something before buying it . Might want to spring for some new paint and deco, it looks a bit dated.

Cheap and honest Another local small computer store sent me to Mr Notebook after they diagnosed my HP with a bad motherboard. The Note guy told me that there was a little known recall on my model even though it was out of warranty. They handled the whole thing for a small fee and got my laptop back with a new systemboard! They saved me hundreds of dollars and all my data. Most places would have just charged me the $450 to "replace" the systemboard and not told me about the secret recall. Thx

Grumpy and Slow It's odd to find men the age of those working at Mr. Notebook to be in perpetual bad moods. SADS from no sunlight? Daily consumption of Bad Humor ice cream? But that doesn't explain the two weeks they take to repair laptops. I recommend lattes plus Prozac.

If laptops are all they do, why can't they do it right Someone I know took their laptop to Mr. Notebook's West Campus location because it suddenly turned itself off. Mr. Notebook reported the motherboard was damaged and offered "data recovery" at $100 per hour. An independent review of the problem from someone who actually has a Computer Science degree and a conscience revealed the solder joints on the A/C power connector had been damaged, a typical problem for older laptops. In reality, no "data recovery" was required as th... read more

Great place to get a laptop deal! Mr. Notebook is in a small little store at the corner of 24th and Rio Grande in the UT Campus area. If you are a student, this is the place to get a good, used laptop for a great place !! The owner is very friendly and so is the staff and they will help you find the best deal for your money. They are very knowledgeable about their products and happy to answer any questions you have. They have the best laptop deals in Austin.

For a great price on a notebook and service During college I worked for UT fixing Dell Laptops. People would sometimes come to have us look at computers not covered under our program and warranty. Mr. Notebook was the place all of my co-workers and myself sent people to if they were not a part of the laptop program. Mr. Notebook is a cheaply priced computer store with a very knowledgeable staff. Their prices are cheaper than places like Best Buy, and they are more personable. They also have a nice range of budget laptops and... read more
