I just found out from my elderly neighbor that orangutan charged them 19,000 for one new air conditioner on a 1600 sq ft home. The one they replaced was only ten years old. I paid 8000 for the same air conditioning unit from a reputable company.
I bought 2 complete air conditioning units, including air handlers from Orangutan in July 2010 for about $19,000. The system came with a twice-yearly seasonal maintenance check-up for 10 years. I subsequently renewed it for an additional 7 years. For the most part I was fairly happy with the maintenance service. However, many of the technicians Orangutan sent out to service my air conditioners were inexperienced. This was supposed to be a free estimate for a reroute of my water line. their plumber found that the leak was not from the meter to the house, but between a cutoff valve and front hose bib. This potentially saved me a lot of money which was good. He then checked the water pressure which I knew was low, he wanted to charge one hundred dollars to increase it, told him the work was done by my home warranty and could not let him touch it.
