I was blessed to have had spent one fourth of July at MOUNT Rushmore. The fireworks were AWESOME. I was in the ARMY in Colorado Springs so we drove up to visit my brother who was in the AIR FORCE in South Dakota.
The heads were smaller than I imagined but it was impressive. At night the park service shows a short film that serves as a tribute to Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and T Roosevelt and the illuminates the monument.
Amazing place to visit! Definitely should put on your bucket list!!!!

Fantastic place to visit. The black hills alone make this area of America breathtaking.
Awesome place! Great concert with the Air Force Academy Band. Museums are very interesting and informative. Could spend hours seeing everything. Been here twice and will be back to see some more.
For a history lover, a visit to this memorial is significant. It essentially represents important events in American history. You don't need a memorial to explain the importance of democracy but if it needed, this memorial truly signifies liberty, freedom, equality and the power of a dream.
