RecommendedI love Monticello. My only complaint is how the politically correct folks have changed the narratives on the tours from focusing on all Thomas Jefferson did for this country to his failings on the issue of slavery.
A must visit. So very interesting
The Behind the Scenes tour led by Karen was the highlight of our DC trip! We were given so much time seeing the entire house and she was so knowledgable and patient with all of our questions. I highly recommend this tour!
.we should all want to know our heritage
It's a beautiful setting and to see the many inventions that Thomas Jefferson did. The flowers on the ground are outstanding. Just to walk where Thomas Jefferson did is worth the trip.
My first visit was wonderful. The second was spectacular as I got to see the Dome Room! Well worth the time and cost. Thanks to all who maintain his Little Mountain!
the grounds and the house were nice and all, but personally i felt 30.00 / person was a bit much considering we really only got to see maybe 6 rooms in the house on the 1st floor and none of the upstairs... and then only after spending 22.00 for 2 hotdogs, 2 bags of chips and 2 bottles of water at the cafe for lunch.... with 20.00 in gas each way and all the other costs, the visit cost me over 120.00 for me and my wife. just my 2 cents
