Delicious, perfect for casual but classy meal with friends – The fries are to die for. They're battered, and amazing. It's obvious that they care about the customers, in the preparation of the food and in service, all the staff is friendly . I would recommend Monteaux's to anyone. :)

pretty yucky, we were disappointed – We went to Monteaux's for my dad's birthday, it was his choice. I'm glad that his food was good, but the rest of our meals were downright yucky. I had the etoufee-it wasn't very good, and was REALLY spicy-I know it's cajun and all, but it was almost inedible, and I can handle some spice. My brother ordered their special- a mexican seafood soup. It WAS supposed to be spicy, but the broth tasted like canned tomato juice with little flavor or spice and the seafood was overwhelmingly fishy. A... read more

Ordinary, pricey food – Saw the high rating on citysearch... Decided to try it. We were there during the happy hour (Friday past 9pm) [not by plan]... however we did NOT notice the happy hour menu, which we realized later on was very limited - only has appetizers were listed at about half of the price, and also has some beers (still costly at $4 or so). We tried buffalo wings, which I generally don't go wrong with. But they made it real salty that it was hard to eat. Then we had the order of entrees... had

Bad Changes – I use to frequent this restaurant quite often. That is not the case anymore. The last couple of times I have gone the food quality has gone down hill. They changed the menu and I was excited to see and try the new things. They were tasteless. So the last time I ate here I ordered one of the original items thinking it would be the same as it was. Boy was I wrong, it was very bland.

Business response:

Greetings Bean2323, I am sorry to read your post and would love some feedback on what (and when) you had the items not up to our standards. (My email is at the bottom of this note) We have indeed hired a new chef but our menu changes don't start til the end of this month. Perhaps you will like the new things we are bringing on, quality and variety are very important to us...I hope you will give us another try! Thanks larry@monteauxsdotcom

Good Beaverton Happy Hour – This is a good stop for happy hour with average drink prices (albeit on some very good beer) but excellent food prices and very good selections. The location in a strip mall is less than exceptional, but the interior is quite nice and it is apparent that the owner(s) pay close attention to detail. I prefer dining downtown, however this is one of my favorite places for staying in Beaverton.

Business response:

Thanks for the review - much appreciated! We celebrate our 9th anniversary on August 29th (live music) and are planning some great things for year 10! larry@monteauxs com

Just average food for an upsce price!" – unlike the other reviewers, we were not overjoyed with the high prices and lack of quality food. Thankfully they had Passport and other discounted programs going through 2008, unfortunately, they did not keep any of these important programs so we doubt it would be worth it to try this place again in this economy

Business response:

In early 2008 with food costs soaring, it became obvious that it was not worth continuing with the 2 for 1 program, as it would eventually force us to raise ALL prices to recoup some of the lost income. In fact, most places on the Passport program specifically are $20+ per entree; our menu is much more affordable so we cannot absorb a 50% discount in this economy. Instead, we kept prices reasonable and introduced "oomph!" our revolutionary version of happy hour/early bird programs. It is a discount that offers everyone 25% o... read more

Amazing Food and Great Prices – This was an amazing find. I came here with my sister, we love to eat out at locally owned restaurants and it is pretty hard to find places close, but this is definitely one of them. We took advantage of the amazing Happy Hour, and we both loved it. Getting 25% off all food is an amazing deal. We were seated right away and the waitress was right at our table to take our drink orders. While the service seemed a little slow for the lack of people in the restaurant, my sister and I love to talk an... read more

Warm, inviting but missing some things... – My wife and I enjoy good food and even though we live in the area we tend to find ourselves driving into Portland to have good food from locally owned restaurants (we really try to support only those places). So that tells you how hard it is to a place close to home. We decided to try one of the few locally owned/operated in Beaverton. I have been here before a long time ago, it wasn't a memorable evening the first time so we decided to try to give them another chance. Times are to... read more

Business response:

I am glad you enjoyed most things during your visit. You are absolutely right about these challenging times, which make it very important that I point out some errors in your review. We offer 10 taps with 8 beers at $4.75 & 2 at $4.95. Regardless of the glassware shape, all are 16oz. The two $4.95 beers, Trumer and Terminal Gravity, are such as both are more costly than our local microbrews. Overall, the hop shortage last year drove prices up and keg prices have yet to come down. Just to be sure, I researched your claims and... read more
