Caustic Customization – Stopped by for drinks and cheap eats, but was greeted with one of the stingiest happy hours I've ever come across. I ordered the $3 cheeseburger and, being intolerant to mayonaise, made a request that my meal be served sans sauce. My inquiry was met with a statement that the kitchen cannot fulfill custom orders. Custom? Medium-rare is custom. The addition of bacon is custom. I was omitting a step, therefore saving someone in the kitchen time. I didn't realize the customization required by omitting sau... read more

Thank you for your comments. After speaking with our entire staff I was able to confirm who was your server last Friday. I want you to know that that person is no longer employed by Monteaux's Public House. I think I may speak for all independent restaurant owners...please ask for a manager or at least leave a comment card if you have a bad experience. We work very hard to maintain a non-chain establishment in a corporate franchise world and an anonymous note on Citysearch makes it hard (but not impossible) to fix something.... read more
inconsistant but decent place on the Westside – Monteaux's is an interesting place. I have had great food here and then just so-so on more than one occasion. The decor is nice, with inviting colors and a nice layout inside. The restaurant does monthly ethnic food themes and I think this is where the inconsistancy lies. It is a great idea but one that doesn't always deliver. With a little more research and testing of dishes, it could be a great magnet restaurant, with a unique draw that could mean big business. As of right no... read more

Thanks Juniper420 for your comments. Our goal with the "country specials" is to take ideas and flavors from different regions and mix them up a bit. We will absolutely take to heart your comment that sometimes it doesn't work, but we have to take some risks! In a city full of corporate "any town in America" restaurants we continually try to improve and evolve without falling into the same old/same old mass produced chain mentality that surrounds us. Thanks again for your patronage and comments - please introduce yourself the... read more
What an absolute delight!!!!! – I've been to many restaurants out of the city and let me tell you, this one by far exceeds any other locally owned business I have been to. When you enter the building you can tell the people care about every aspect. From the smiles down to the very personable service. Can I say how nice it is not to have the cookie-cutter server who wants to kneel by your table and try to sell you things they have no idea about? The food and the atmosphere are enough here. But you also have the extra added bo... read more

Thanks for your kind words - you made my day! larry@monteauxs.com
Best French Fries – The best french fries I've ever eaten are served here! Go just for the fries. We love to eat here and go often. Highly recommended.
Disapointing – Pleasant, warm atmosphere. Very average food. Extremely unattentive servers do not smile or exchange any friendly words. The restaurant was not at all busy, we were seated cetrally and still were paid little to. In speaking with friends we learned that they had a very similar experience. We will not return.
A Favorite for Several Years – My friends and I are regulars at Monteaux's. We love this place. The owners Sal and Larry are always inviting and the serving staff is stellar. The food is consistently good and they are constantly finding ways to improve or expand the menu offerings. The monthly specials by country are a fun touch and a good opportunity for variety. The caramel apple martini is fabulous if you're in need of a cocktail. Also, the bananas foster french toast offered for breakfast on weekends will make you go wea... read more
Uncooked & Uneaten – My mother and I went to Monteaux's for dinner. For starters, the place is freezing! We waited in the front for 5 minutes to be seated.Turned out that the host was actually the bus boy. My mom & I ordered the "Chicken Saltimboca". The chicken was dry, and rough. & if you readers know anything about Saltimboca, you'll know that its tender and wafer thin, easy to cut, & NOT PINK! This chicken was NOT Saltimboca. Just when we thought we were being relieved of hell food, the Creme Brulee was soupy & dripped e... read more

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments. I am disappointed your dinner was not up to our standards as I consider myself to be the ultimate critic! Our versions of the Chicken Saltimbocca and the Tahitian Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee are consistently among our best selling items so please accept my sincere apology that they were not prepared properly for you. As an independent restaurant owner I can assure you your dining experience was not typical for MPH. I would love the opportunity to invite you and your mother ... read more
A Classy Pub – This was a very nice place... too nice. I personally like my pubs to be a bit darker and less... well... polished, but if you're looking for a nice restaurant, this place has it all. Good selection of beer (wish they had Bass and Harps on tap) and the food was good. I'd recommend the Halibut fish and chips... very tender and great flavor. The cajun pasta wasn't the caliber of Le bistro Montage or the Corner saloon, but it would work in a pinch. Overall, just a nice place to sit, relax, and have a brew with you... read more
great little place! – Monteaux's is a great little neighborhood place in Beaverton! We love trying their different world specials but they also have the BEST burgers in town!
