Open to the public since 2004, Montana Grizzly Encounter invites you to watch, learn and interact with the grizzlies in a safe environment. Watch as Brutus, Sheena and Bella, the resident bears, bask in the early morning sun, and later visit the gift shop to buy a few souvenirs to remember these grizzlies by.

Visited the encounter again today. It's been 6 years since our last visit. Again, we spent around 6 hours there! Got to view Bella first and then Brutus. Loved watching each one of them. Bill was wonderful at educating all of us on bears and bear safety. The four of us thoroughly enjoyed speaking with Bill and swapping some stories in between guests coming in and out. He (and the rest of the MGE folks) truly love these bears and they aren't afraid to show it. We will be back again.

RecommendedThis place is a gem. They do great work here and give out a lot of valuable information on these beautiful creatures and how to stay safe around them in the wild. Bonus is that they are dog friendly for well-behaved, leashed dogs. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. We'll definitely be back!

it was a great place not only to see the bears... but to be educated....I absolutely had a wonderful time there... Bella... what can I say about her... for a bear to have such a personality... highly recommend and did on my FB page...
Knowledgeable staff doing good work with these grizzlies! Definitely worth a visit.
3rd visit and today Bella was out during our visit, she was digging a hole then decided to go take a bath! Got some great photos. I preferred the male representative on my previous visits as he was very informative and personable. Enjoy viewing the grizzlies in a safe environment that you guys provide!
