loved it...will come back:) – I have recently been there for a Sunday brunch and I loved everything about the place - the location, design, wonderful staff (really great!) and super delicious food. Definitely will come back for a romantic dinner (interior is really nice) or again for a Sunday brunch:)
Mockingbird should be the state restaurant – We had the Duck Trio appetizer (special), it was great. We ordered the wine of the month, but since they were out, they gave us a better bottle for the same price, which made me happy. We both ordered the dinner specials (halibut and steak). I could not stop eating my steak dinner with shitake mushrooms and onion leeks. The sauce was delish and the season on the steak was perfect. great food but bad service – The food was excellent. The service was not. Our waitress was condesending (when she managed to stop by the table which wasn't very often). Some people should not be in the service industry. Friendly, helpful, nice.... not words we would use to describe our server. It's a shame. The space is great and food even better, but I'm not going to pay someone to treat us like an inconvenience. Word to the wise; with all of the GREAT restaurants offering GREAT service in Houston, why settle for this???
romantic - in cellar room – lambshank was great juicy and flavorable. need to go again to try another dish to fully rate this place.
Excellent food We had a company Christmas party here. The food was really delicious from apps to dessert. It is small, but quite quaint.
wonderful – always great for a special occasion. food is so fresh and flavorful and perfectly cooked! main dining room is very charming. definitely a place to go back to over and over...
Not sure why it is so popular. I live within walking distance, so have visited repeatedly over the years. The specials can be pricey, so ask first (Kobe steak-$95!!) The food is good but other places are better for the money.
The best in Houston – Excellent food and service
Excellent Seafood Special – The red snapper special we had for dinner last night was the best fish dish I have ever had in my life. Hail to the chef!
