Recomendations for improvement: 1) Coordinate care with the patients family physician so the medical history is properly considered. Care providers consistently assumed my father had dementia which he did not. They also caused psychiatric problems by changing medicines without knowing what was normal for him. 2) Maintain a work schedule so the number of doctors and nurses assigned to patients are not constantly changing to someone new each day. My brother Charles Shaffer had been in and out of Carle since November 2020 for heart issues. They put in a pacemaker, but that isn’t going to fix the problem since his arteries are narrowed and 100% blocked. And that took 2 times in the hospital to find that out! They have to do open heart surgery for a triple bypass, repair the valve, etc. and they keep delaying the surgery and sending him home because they state they need ICU beds open for COVID patients. My daughter saw a plastic surgeon at one of their satellite facilities & I got charged $270 for the doctor which is fine but Carle Foundation charged me $275 fee for using their building!!! Will never go back. I called & the lady was rude & said they charge all their patients that.
This hospital is ridiculous. My fiancé is waiting for test results which should’ve been back 30 minutes ago, but instead has to listen to the nurses outside his room bragging about how intoxicated they were before coming into work this morning. Really professional. I, from my car in the parking lot, had to call the hospitals ER department to ask them to give my fiancé his results and send him home. Letting relatives ie spouse be more involved in patients care and the staff being not so uninvolved in patient care

My daughter is pregnant and high risk so she is in the hospital at carle until she delivers. She is only 33 weeks today. They are kicking her husband out and will not let him return. He has offered to quit going to his job and just stay in her room. How is THAT a threat to his wife, child or staff, but the nurses are free to come and go, see family members, go to the store, church, etc and return to take care of my daughter but her husband that hasn’t left the room is a threat??
