Who filed the first patent for screen printing? Samuel Simon of England in the year 1907. Although Mr. Simon filed the first patent for screen printing, the art of screen printing is dated to over 1,000 years ago and originated in China.

If you're only producing small batches of screen printing, then you may only need a flash curing unit. These use infrared rays to heat the ink, which means they don't need a tunnel to contain the heat, and are much more compact than a conveyor dryer.

Wool and wool blends provide a much more absorbent surface for textile ink to permeate. The more ink is absorbed by the fabric, the more vibrant the colors turn out, which is great for printing complex designs.

While stenciled designs date back to 2500 BC, the earliest screen printed tools, equipment, and designs appear to have evolved in China between 960 and 1279 AD. Screen printing techniques quickly spread to Japan, where both the process and equipment were refined and improved.

If you own a shop that sells skateboards or skateboard parts, you can increase sales and passively promote your business by having the boards print screened with different designs and the name of your business. Put one on top, and one on the bottom of the board.

If you are beginning to assemble equipment to begin your screen printing business, take careful measurements of your floor area, noting any odd configurations and unmovable fixtures. The equipment you order has to be able to fit in the available space.

Did you know that screen printing is the best option when you're printing in bulk? This is because the screen can be used over and over again thus allowing the printer to lower the per unit cost of the project.

Before selecting a screen printing machine, consider the type of image size you are currently working with and possibilities for future image sizes too. Screen printing machines can handle image sizes from as small as 16 X 18 inches to as large as 30 X 40 inches.
