In the past, screen printed images on fabric often had a stiff feel, due to the type of ink or paint used. Modern advancements in formulations have created screen print inks and paints that are light, flexible and long-lasting.

A flash curing unit is good for small batches, somewhere around a few dozen shirts or units a week. But if you need to produce more, then you may want to look into a conveyor dryer, which is built for larger quantities.

If you have an old shirt with a design you like, but the original printer is no longer available, we may be able to help. Our graphic artists will work to recreate the original artwork for screening to a new article. Just let us know how many you need.

What type of ink is the most popular choice of ink among screen printers? Plastisol. But what exactly is plastisol? It is a colored liquid suspension crafted with PVC particles. This ink is preferred among screen printers because of the amazingly clear and concise print results achieved with the use of plastisol.

If dye migration is a concern with your screen printing project (whether you’re printing on a polyester material or have a highly intricate design where the colors are close to one another), low-bleed inks will be your best bet. They will prevent any migration and ensure the integrity of the design.

Which is better? Wooden frames are the traditional material of choice for screen printing processes, but modern aluminum frames offer certain advantages. They’re light, durable, and strong, and some printers find them easier to handle and work with overall.

Getting the hang of choosing the right mesh count for each printing job and thinning the ink out to the right level is a bit of a balancing act. Successful screen printers maintain meticulous notes on each printing job to reveal the best practices for various printing situations.
