With customized screen printing there is scope for creative flexibility. For example, once you have your design, you can print it in multiple colors to suit the different base colors of shirts. You can also play with the positioning of the design.
A rotary screen print press is a marvel of efficiency and allows one printer to produce materials at a steady rate. When configured with one printing, a flash cure, and two cooling stations, a steady, cost-effective pace can be maintained.
The CMYK process of printing is cheaper than most and less timely as it relies on just 4 colors to create the full spectrum of those needed to produce the required image. A large number of different colors can be simulated by using only 4 screens.
One common error that new screen printers make is to use a large portion of half tones as substitutions for spot colors to save on printing costs. But using half tones for these purposes can significantly reduce the quality and appeal of a printed design.
Glitter and shimmer prints use screens that have lower mesh counts like the 40 and the 86 mesh because their inks have particles that are simply unable to properly pass through higher mesh screens.
When choosing out your screens, there a couple different choices to make, such as the mesh count and the frame material. A mesh count of 220 is popular for paper printing, while 110-160 is usually used for fabric. The frame material is usually either wood or aluminum.
Did you know that custom screen printing is a cost-effective and highly successful form of advertising? We offer a variety of screen printing services to meet all your marketing and promotional needs.
After a screen run, you will need to wash out the screens before storage. Forgetting to do this will render them unusable. If your location can facilitate it, simply wash them off using a garden hose. If this is not possible, you can set up a washout booth and use a garden hose or a gentle spray from a powerwasher.
For schools that require uniforms, you can create a better image and greater student loyalty by having the school crest and motto silk-screened on shirts for everyday wear. Studies show that when students know they are representing the school, their behavior improves.
