Not Good Enough – I have to agree with most of the other reviewers. Tacos are too small and the flavors are oddly bland. Soup was hearty (although not piping hot), but its meatballs still lacked punch. Ingredient quality is high, kitchen fast enough, but I didn't taste anything that would make we want to go back for more. I would gladly pay these prices for unusually good Mexican food, but this food was merely unusual.

Over-Priced Mexican Food – I recently dined at Mijita with a friend, and between the two of us we spent over $27.00 for a couple of aqua frescas, 2 fish tacos and a side dish. The fish tacos which they are supposedly famous for had very little flavor. We kept spooning the hot sauces on the table and that didn't improve the flavor. Don't waste your money on the Aqua Frescas either - they are watered down!

Not Worth The Money – I knew Mijita would cost more than a taco truck, but I expected more bang for my buck. The horchata was the dullest, most watered down drink I have ever had. The taco de carnitas was nothing special and very small. The grilled corn was nice, but it was a special. I spent over $10 on lunch and left hungry and disappointed. There's a fabulous taco truck on Folsom and Spear. I suggest getting some food there and eating it by the water. It'll be more satisfying in the end.

A Wonderful Medley of Mexican Cuisine – Wary after reading some of the reviews about Mijita I found myself at the Ferry Plaza ready to try it out anyway. The guacamole was thick and fresh, the tortilla chips prepared the same way as those I've had them in rural Mexico, and the agua fresca I ordered sweet and delicious. The Tacos that I ate were warm, however, I noted that cold salsa was added on top. I enoyed the combination but would recommend salsa on the side if you want a piping hot meal. The staff was extremely friendly... read more

Chef-owner Traci des Jardins pays homage to her culinary roots at this gourmet taqueria. – The Scene From the walls displaying bottles Mexican sodas to the staff wearing cuter-than-cute T-shirts depicting a Day of the Dead skeleton in toque and apron, there's a distinct aura of Mexi-kitsch. Wooden tables and squat benches provide seating that looks out over the bay. Service is do-it-yourself, but counter staff is kind and efficient. The Food Mexican antojitos made from sustainable ingredients result in high-quality bites. Ta... read more

Closed at 7pm? – Even worse than $4.50 for a fish taco is that they close at 7pm! A manager of another Ferry Plaza merchant told me Traci's plans are only to cater to the commute crowd... but she's obviously not been around at 7pm, when most of the other FP restaurants are open and building up a solid evening business.

Not so Fabulous anymore! – Update - I used to love this place and have gone back several times only to be disappointed again and again. Food has been served cold the last 5 or 6 times I've been there. I used to love the tacos but the last several times I've eaten there they have been served cold - a hot filling but cold corn tortilla. Made the tacos taste bland and inedible. Took my family there and their food was cold as well - my mom even had to take a bowl of beans back because they were cold. Maybe too much early prep an... read more

NO WAY! NOT GOOD! DON'T WAIST YOUR $ – THIS RESTAURANT WAS, QUITE SIMPLY, A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT...LIMITED MENU, BELOW AVERAGE FOOD, AND TERRIBLE "VALUE FOR MONEY". THE VIEWS AND LOCATION ARE WONDERFUL, BUT DON'T EVEN THINK OF WAISTING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON THIS BELOW AVERAGE MEXICAN FOOD...GO TO THE MISSION. IF YOU WANT TO EAT AT THE FERRY BUILDING, GO TO SLANTED DOOR...

Go to The Mission – It is great to get good mexican food at the Ferry Building, so if you want it you'd better go on Saturday when the tamale stand is set up out back amongst the other prepared food vendors @ the farmer's market, because you can't get it @ Mijita. It is nice to sit outside along the water and people watch, but in my experience that was the only positive. My carnitas taco was under sized and under seasoned. The queso fundido which was visually appealling, served in a earthenware dish, was served cold, causing... read more
