Bad service, small menu, overpriced – Really bad service for weekend lunch. Cashier did not read order back, causing me to have to stand in line a second time. Go anywhere else.
Not a Good Deal, and Not Good Mexican Food – Yeah, unfortunately I agree with the last reviewer. I'd been told I HAD to try Mijita and was excited about it. I went with my husband for breakfast on a Sunday morning. We shared the chilaquiles and the huevos con chorizo. Neither was very good or spicy or authentic. I also didn't like having to sit on those long benches, but I would have been ok with it if the food had been good. Also their guacamole was completely bland, and for the price they charge it should have been much be... read more
Nothing like Mexican in the Mission – If the food were good, I wouldn't care that it was overpriced and that I had to sit with a ton of strangers at dirty tables. But it doesn't even come close to the worst Mexican food in the Mission. The spices are all wrong. The options are so limited. Avoid this place.
A Great Lunch! – My husband and I were visiting SF and stopped by the Ferry Building to check out a couple of the shops. We weren't really planning to eat lunch there, but the smells from Mijita drew us in. Yes, the menu is a little pricey, but the quality of the food was incredible. We had the jicama, grapefruit, and avocado salad to start, which was a fantastic medley of flavors and colors -- I want to re-create this dish at home! My husband had the fish taco, and the attention to quality was obvious; the tortilla was one ... read more
Great albondigas soup! – This is a fun place if you want some organic mexican food, albeit pricier than usual. The chips are nice and oily/salty and the guacamole is fresh. I especially like the soups, espcially the albondigas on a chilly SF day.
Terrific Mexican food, more expensive than most – I salute Traci des Jardins on several fronts; launching this restaurant because of her heritage, and cooking with organic ingredients. In fact, what des Jardins has done is elevated the taqueria in a way that makes it more acceptable to the elite, who might otherwise miss out on this terrific food. I always enjoy the sopa de tortilla, the chicken tacos are great, and I love the salsas they provide. However, the queso de fundido disappoints (the chorizo is great, but it doesn'... read more
You pay for the location – Can't beat the location, food is good, but it's way overpriced. Overpriced because they don't serve plates of food that fill you up. PEOPLE GET HUNGRY, FEED THEM!
Quite expensive for what you get – So this restaurant is very limited in its menu. Mainly just tacos and a quesadilla and a mini burrito. I was expecting a lot more. Also I feel that it is highly overpriced, but then again it is SF. Each taco costs $4.00 and it will take at least 3 to fill up any guy with an appetite. The agua fresca is pretty good.
ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS PLACE – yes, i know i know, you can get a cheaper taco. but the rent at the ferry building is a LOT more than practically anywhere else. i love the fact i can have a fish taco down town. i think it's incredible. i adore sitting outside watching people cram every delicious morsel down their throats. this is an incredible place. traci des jardins has done it yet again. the reviewers who are bitching really should try and make a gorgeous mahi mahi taco for $4.00. mijita, thank you.
