About this business

Located in Eagle Rock, L.A.'s new "it" neighborhood, Mia Sushi is a quiet retreat for a good meal. Their sushi chef recreates classic Japanese with California flavors, like Miso Soup with Cilantro. The Tuna Tartare, one of the best dishes, is served in cubes and placed on cucumber slices finished off with with sesame oil. Or try one of Mia's specialty rolls. The beauty, perhaps even the genius, of Mia is its patio seating covered in bamboo and its tranquil waterfall, which makes you forget the hustle of L.A. driving. Mia's i... read more

Once you had it, you won't want anything else! – Every time I've had the pleasure of dining at Mia's has been wonderful! The staff has always been friendly and fun. I've had practically everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. Even my finicky friends love it and end up returning usually in the same week and bringing friends and family. The calamari are always crispy and light, the sushi looks and tastes like a work of art, and the dessert (strawberry and banana tempura on whipped cream drizzled in chocolate s... read more

Unimpressive Sushi – My wife and I love Sushi and are always excited to try new spots and usually eat sushi about once a week. Living in Eagle Rock we were especially excited to give Mia a try as nothing would make us happier than a local fresh fish spot. In fact, we were so hopeful that we gave Mia 2 separate chances hoping each time to like it. Unfortunately both times were complete disappointments and a total waste of money. The sushi is barely passable, the service was severely lacking, the music was WAY too loud to have... read more

Good Sushi – Was looking forward to having a great Sushi place in Eagle Rock. This place was good. The Sushi was good. I have had better but this was good too. Yes, it can be crowded at times but all in all was a pretty decent experience.

GREATEST SUSHI EVER! – Loved it! Loved it! Loved it! Do not pass this one by! The food was great! Definitely top quality fish! I recommend trying the Firecracker Salad, Mia Roll, and the Bamboo Roll (my three favorites). I dine at Mia Sushi frequently and I have yet to be disappointed. This is a new restaurant and they have met all my expectations since they first opened. Servers are nice and friendly, and even if they weren't I would still go just for the cuisine.... think "The crazy Soup guy episode from Seinfeld". They ha... read more

Awful, Awful Sushi Restaurant – Hoping our first experience was a fluke, my wife and I have unfortunately dined at Mia twice now. We both love sushi and were excited for Eagle Rock to finally get it's very own sushi spot. Mia Sushi however, is not what we were hoping for. To start, both times the valets were pushy and rude when we parked just in front of the restaurant and not with them. It's insane to even have valet parking in Eagle Rock when there is easy parking around the corner! The service followed suit, with obnoxiou... read more

Overpriced, mediocre sushi, poor service – This restaurant thinks way too much of itself. The sushi is mediocre at best with fish of questionable quality. Additionally the service has been incredibly poor during our couple visits that we have no desire to return. Also obnoxious is the valet service when there is ample street parking just a few feet in front of the restaurant. All in all, there are dozens of better sushi restaurants in nearby Pasadena. Avoid Mia Sushi and have a much more enjoyable night elsewhere!

Best Quality Fish – I have to say that I wasn't sure that I wanted to go after reading the reviews on the terrible service & the pricing. I'm so glad that I changed my mind! Mia truly has some of the best quality fish in town (& I've eaten almost everywhere) and the price isn't that different from most moderately priced establishments. True the service is still trying to get it 100% together, but they really do it all with a smile and the wait staff is much nicer than at places like Roku & Geisha house.

Yummy sushi, but not worth the wait – We got there and was seated very promptly. The Restaurant was filled, but not super busy. It took about 15 min until they took our order. came by once to give us water, then about 40 min passed, and some of our order was brought to us. The sushi was loose and totally fell apart. I had to flag down a waitress to get some tea, since they never came by to check on us. I got my order about 15 minutes later and by that time I was starved and disappointed. The tables that were there after us h... read more

Really Poor Service – We stopped in last Saturday night excited to try the new hip sushi place (In Eagle Rock, even!!) that had recently opened up down the street. I was impressed by the ambience; soft amber lights and your basic electronic vibe on the bose overhead. That's pretty much where the "cool" ended. The rolls are basic, very small in size and waaay overpriced. The service, on the same hand, is HORRIBLE. After waiting over two hours for our scattered rolls to arrive, we were told by the maitre d' that they were so "... read more
