About this business

Located in Eagle Rock, L.A.'s new "it" neighborhood, Mia Sushi is a quiet retreat for a good meal. Their sushi chef recreates classic Japanese with California flavors, like Miso Soup with Cilantro. The Tuna Tartare, one of the best dishes, is served in cubes and placed on cucumber slices finished off with with sesame oil. Or try one of Mia's specialty rolls. The beauty, perhaps even the genius, of Mia is its patio seating covered in bamboo and its tranquil waterfall, which makes you forget the hustle of L.A. driving. Mia's i... read more

Yeah here's my tip; don't go there. So I took my family went to Mia Sushi. To be fair, I've eaten there before and the prices seemed high for basically mehh food. And it's loud for a sushi place but it was okay Today we went in early for dinner. It was still light out and there were plenty of tables available indoors and outdoors. We asked for a table for 3 and the guy said 5 minutes. We looked at each other then at all the open tables but we we so starved we just sat down, figuring we could do 5 minutes. 15 minutes later th... read more

Best food in town Food is amazing. Every time I come here, I feel like I never want to leave. Very chic atmosphere with a relaxing mood. The service is great and the staff really does a terrific job at taking care of you. The appetizers are delicious. Theres plenty of places to park: theres a parking lot across the street and a parkin garage up the street within walking distance. Most of the time I find myself looking at my watch waiting for the food to come, but here I was so entertained with the fun atmosphere that I was p... read more

Lame, Expensive – I'd stay away from this place. The prices out of control for the quality of sushi here, and the sushi itself is poor quality. It's got some lame fusion thing going on and they've done a poor job at actually fusing anything. Their dishes are often a mix of competing flavors that really provide only dissonance for your palate. The only thing that this place has going for it is the ambience. For those of you that "LOVE" this place, really? where are you from, ohio? get out to some other sushi places in LA. As ... read more

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this restaurant! – This is not your usual Japanese restaurant. It is 5 steps up! The food is fresh, delicious and served in an unusally tasty manner. The servers and staff are helpful and friendly and definately aim to please. We love this place even tho it is a little pricey, it is so worth it. And it is in our neighborhood of Eagle Rock!

Suprisingly GREAT! – I reluctantly suggested this place to my girlfriends for our girl's night out after reading a few negative comments on this page but felt compelled to go because I have heard that this place is actually good. I'm one to draw my own opinion. I'm glad I did! The food was delicious, the service was very attentive, and vibe was cool and no the music wasnt too loud - it was actually at just the right level. We will definitely go back.

delicious... – Kazu (I think thats the way his name is spelled) the head sushi chef, is the best in town. I dont even have to tell him what I want - with just a few visits, he already knows what I want. And if I am feeling adventurous, I let him suprise me with one of his special on the fly creations. This is my favorite local spot. I have brought in a few dates here and they were impressed with it all.

How does Anybody Eat Here? – I am confused by all the back-and-forth reviews on this place, because my two trips here have both been gawd-awful. I just can't imagine any situation where this place doesn't just stink. I went once with my wife and found it to be a total let down. The sushi was no where near as good as what we're used to having either in Studio City or in Pasadena, and the atmosphere was lousy to boot. The music was too loud (we're NOT an old couple, by the way) and the whole place was just so cheesy. The secon... read more

This place is total s*** – Looking around here I don't have much to add to the already terrible reviews, other than to say they are spot on. For the life of me I don't understand what people have enjoyed here and how anybody can give it a positive rating. I'm guessing the fancy decor and high prices make people think they are getting quality. Really they're just getting ripped off.
