I have been going to Merichka's since I was a little girl. My parents have been coming here since the 1950's. A family tradition!

I was introduced to Merichka's in 1981 by my then boyfriend, now husband. His family is from Joliet and of course Merichka's was a family favorite for them. When I told my dad where I went, he told me stories of how his bowling team from Lombard looked forward to Joliet tournaments so they could eat at Merichka's after. Needless to say, my husband, our kids and now our grandkids love Merichka's. Many birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, a wedding reception were celebrated there. I'm sorry, I'm 53 and have been to Merichkas since I was little and have NEVER ordered anything but a poorboy with garlic butterine and pickles. Simply the best sandwich on earth. At least 4 me!!!
