Merichkas’s is my favorite hometown Restaurant And their poor boy and double baked potatoes are amazing and love their salad with the house dressing. I have been going there since 1962 and chose Merichkas’s for our rehearsal dinner and we all loved it! In my opinion, Merichkas’s is excellent!👍
Everything was wonderful. We were there celebrating a late Christmas party with a group of about 14 people and our server was very attentive and the steak poboy sandwich was delicious!
Last Saturday,we ordered our "usual", Poor boys , twice baked potatoes, and salad with house dressing. It was scrumptious! I'd been craving Merichka's, and this was the ''fix" ! Made our Saturday night great! The young women at the pick up desk were friendly--in fact we had a nice conversation while waiting for my order to come out. Good food, happy tummies!
Left the area 30 years ago and was thrilled to see that Merichka's is still open and still serving the best poor boys and onion rings in the galaxy. The dining room was exactly as I remembered. There are somethings which cannot be improved upon and a trip to Joliet would not be complete without a stop here.
