I second the opinion of Donna Minkowitz, a writer whose work on equality, civil liberties, and social justice I greatly admire. I am familiar with the writings of Gilad Atzmon, and am shocked that he has been invited to perform at your cafe and to speak after performing. His writings are virulently anti-Semitic even though he himself is Jewish. And by that, I do not mean critical of the State of Israel, but of Jewishness and Jewish culture per se. Y'all, I am saddened and frankly angry that a progressive establishment would allow or condone bathroom policing. This is not ok in the progressive community, and until staff are prepared to stand with the lgbtq community and others (as staff or with patrons), I will not patronize or condone events held here.
I'm shocked that Mercury Café has invited the notorious antisemite and Holocaust denier Gilad Atzmon to play and give a talk. All Denverites should boycott.
Atzmon is a crackpot hate preacher. Please don't host a crackpot hate preacher. Toss that noxious turd into the gutter where it belongs.Thank you.
I've always considered Mercury Cafe to be a progressive establishment. That is, until I heard you removed a friend today for USING THE BATHROOM. You must do better.
