Great fries & hot dogs served with a sense of humor! A Tampa favorite-beats the franchise places for atmosphere and friendly service.
Best hot dogs in town . It has that back in the day atmosphere and very friendly people. We had been there many times but watching them on Fox 13 with Charlie Belcher just reminded u s to go back . So we celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary.
Very crowded on National Hot Dog Day but service was quick and friendly. The Mel's Special Hot Dog Basket was delicious. Just the right amount of condiments and not overcome by the sauerkraut. Will definitely go back for more.
Food and the staff were very good. Very clean, we enjoyed it.
A Tampa Bay staple. Gotta get 2 dogs, fries and beans!

Awesome! The same as when I was a kid. When I was in high school I used to go to the Carrollwood location after swim practice before I went to work at least once a week. I brought my kids in yesterday to the original location and they loved it!
I have been going to Mel's ever since they opened, and even in Brandon while they were there. Absolutely the best hot dog in the Tampa Bay Area!! You have to try it!!
