Best Vet Ever he is an old school vet who is outstanding. He is very nice and matter of fact. If you are looking for a vet who will pamper you, this is not the person. He will be honest and tell you the straight facts. I really like that. I have been going to him for over 12 years for my dog. the place does get real busy, so call ahead.
HORRIBLE vet. Took my dog to him because I couldn't get to his regular vet. Had a horrible experience. He didn't do any kind of actual exam. He didn't listen to his heart or lungs. Didn't look at his gums and didn't do any kind of physical exam. All he did was take his temperature and a fecal sample which he didn't have looked at undera microscope. All he did with the fecal sample was look at it and sniff it. He then said that my dog probably caught a bug, and then gave him three shots, which one of them started to bleed. I ... read more
WARNING: Do NOT take your dog to get their ears cropped here!!! I took my doberman pinscher to get her ears cropped here because it was a lot cheaper than the other clinics. Trust me, you get what you pay for!! They completely messed up her ears. She looks like a gremlin because of the way they cropped them. Not only that, they don't stand. Now, I'm still taking her to a different vet to get them to tape them up, hoping that they will eventually stand even though the vet told me the chances of them ever standing up is slim b... read more
Wouldn't go for serious illness I've been to McLeod clinic a few times. Most of the time everyone seemed really nice and it was a good vet experience. Once when my dog was really sick she ended up having a blockage in her intestines which wasn't caught after two visits. I ended taking my dog to an emergency vet on the weekend when she still wasn't better which is when the X-rays were done to find the blockage.
Mc Leod Animal Clinic-Round is unacceptable. I will never go back. Unprofessional staff was too busy complaining about working, whining about their problems, and arguing with each other to take care of my cat. The vet seemed nice enough, but I'm not sure he was even listening to me. Quick exam and out the door. The only positive about the visit was the price, though it doesn't make up for all the negatives.
Mc Leod Animal Clinic-Round is Superb Dr. McLeod is wonderful. You do not need an appointment to be seen and his fees are unbelievably reasonable. I adopted a puppy and a kitten from the animal shelter and he has treated both. The puppy is doing great, but the kitten was adopted sick and Dr. McLeod suggested leaving the kitten at his clinic to monitor and assured me he would not bankrupt me in doing so. Something didn't feel right about this place..... When we first moved to Round Rock (about 10 years ago) I was looking for a Vet for our dog and 2 cats. I made my appointment to take my dog in for shots and when I walked in the place was eerie and just didn't make me feel comfortable. The receptionist wasn't friendly towards my dog and if you don't like animals work somewhere else. The Vet wasn't too friendly either. Mc Leod Animal Clinic-Round is GREAT! ...saved us HUNDREDS in just 1 visit!! We thought we had a sickly old scruffy lab, in too much distress from an itchy skin auto-immune disorder but it turns out it was just simple allergies. No expensive labwork done, no stress of waiting for results, no unnecessary steroids -- just good ol' fashioned knowledge and experience did the trick and now our dog is as youthful as ever! We also got to try out the furminator to reduce shedding, and it's already saved me $$$ in grooming costs, too... read more
AVOID THIS VET CLINIC! Dr. Mcleod doesn't seem to care about the animals. He is very gruff and has a "it's just an animal" mentality. To most of us, our pets are part of our family and he just doesn't get it. This mind set is also reflected in his office staff who are rude. Dr. Mcleod should not be a Vet. To him, taking care of your beloved pet is like changing the oil in your car. There are many good & caring Vets in Round Rock but unfortunately Dr. Mcleod is not one of them.
