My son bought some soup for lunch and ended up with a massive headache and in the bathroom and missing work that night.

The soups are prepared fresh daily by a very conscientious food safe-trained employee. This place is amazing! I was blown away by the customer service from all of the staff! Mark shows great passion about his product and cares about the customers! My new favorite place to buy meat. Not to mention the best price in town for antibiotic free chicken!
Chili cheese dogs are awesome! I can always depend on the Maxbauer's team to make me look like a good cook!
The house made Andouille sausage is AWESOME! Spiced to perfection & smoked. Eat it as it is. If there's any left cook up some gumbo.

Tonight we just finished a lamb shank, white bean cassoulet. And if I must say so myself, it was outstanding. I've made this several times in the past but never with the lamb shanks from Max Bauers. In the past I've always had to degrease it so much that I ended up losing a lot of the sauce. NOT so this time. No grease to deal with, no tough meat and the 3 pieces I bought had enough meat on it to equal 6 shanks from somewhere else. Thank you, Mark for taking so much pride in you products. You're the best.

A must visit for all those traveling to Traverse!!! All products are homemade and their wide selection of jerky's are unbelievably delicious. The people that work here are all top caliber and helpful. Mark, the owner is an incredible spirit and is beaming with warmth. We visited last year for our honeymoon and Mark was so generous with his time and made us feel like family. Just had the best experience at Maxbauer's! I special ordered a product and went in to pick it up today. Sadly, it wasn't the right item. This could have been a thorn in my side but I spoke with the owner and he was extremely personable and friendly. He immediately called the company and straightened the situation out. It wasn't expected at all but he discounted the price to help with my inconvenience. It was a pleasure speak with him and I will definitely be back again! Thank you!
