Matsuhisa

4.3

About this business

Do not even drive by without confirmed reservations, this is the most popular Japanese eatery in town. It is considered by many to be the best sushi place in the US, and the best restaurant in the greater city of Los Angeles. Everything is fresh, delicious and very expensive, after all it is the workmanship of Nobu Matsuhisa. Rub elbows with the rich and famous, but leave your autograph book at home.

TO DIE FOR – The food at Matsuhisa is superb. i went there a few days ago and had a great time. The bill was sky high but well worth the money. I myself am not a seafood fan and raw seafood is even worth. This restauraunt however had plenty of great dishes for those of you who don't like fish. The waiters are extremly nice and you are warmly greeted when you arive. Everything about this place will keep you coming back for more.

If you don't go to here you are MISSING OUT!!!! – Can it really get any better than this? No, I don't think so. Everything is delectable here. Sure it may be pricey, but it's so worth it for like a special occasian. Everything is so fresh and the Saki's are great because they offer a variety of flavors (best is Passion Fruit and Pineapple) You just can't pass this up. The Bento Box is just perfect...not too sweet and not too heavy. This is Travis and Shana's (Meet the Barker's) fav place to dine as well as mine. The last tim... read more

Still my favorite sushi in LA – I have been going to Matsuhisa for many years . One thing that is amazing about this place compared to a lot of other places is the consistency . I have yet to have a bad food experience ! . I have pretty much been to all the new " fancy " sushi places - but I still consider this the best sushi in LA . It is time to update the interior through .

Best Sushi in town! – Me and my friend went there on Mid of August on a Friday night, we didn't have reservation, but it was early, so we are able to get a seat on the sushi bar. We each had the chef's special for $120 a person which is also called omasaka. I liked the chef Kasu - who is a really experienced and nice iron chef over there. Surprisingly and unexpected, Nobu was there that day!! He was very friendly, and took several pix with me. Even though he said hi to most of his "frequently" customers but not us the "casua... read more

No Urasawa – Had the whole omakase room (near the entrance), which seats 8 reserved. had high expectation coming in, but a bit disappointed. 1st course spring roll with yuzu sauce-a little greasy. 2nd was the mix appetizer consisting of some pickles, lobster ceviche, snapper new sashimi style, and octopuc carpacio-only the lobster passed the test. 3rd baked king crab with lemon-ginger vinagrette-really fresh, definitely enjoyed it. 4th was foie gras with sweet sake-great taste, but texture was too hard, preferred less cooked... read more

Worth the money – Everyone must try this place at least once. It is well worth the money. The food is amazing, as are all the deserts. You will be more than satisfied.

You want the truth? – atsuhisa is a good resturant, great sushi and fusions by Nobu. If youre a sushi connoisseur, youll be satisfied. If youre idea of good sushi is California rolls and Kabuki, youll be blown away. I've had the fixed menu multiple times (it has always been the same), and was usually pleased. However, for the price you are paying, it is only ok. Example: the famous jalapeno yellowtail dish is only 6 tissue thin slices of yellowtail for $20. Some of my peeves are: the waiters are often rushed and look down on... read more
