A Georgetown fixture since the early 1930s, Martin's Tavern leans decisively towards the historical - rather than the trendy - aspect of this neighborhood. The former New York Giants baseball player William G. Martin opened this neighborhood pub in 1933. Today his grandson, Billy Martin runs the family business. Dark wood paneling and touches of hunter green make for an attractive interior. The menu features American and continental classics - steak and seafood as well as pasta served with marinara or alfredo sauces.

Great atmosphere, and location. Shepherd's Pie was a bit on oily.
My wife and I just walked by, as we were familiar with it Thursday night, as we were coming back from the Washington national cathedral we stopped in at Martin's. Easter Sunday they said reservations were required, so we said that we were from Limehouse ontario, Canada and the next thing we knew sitting in the LBJ BOOTH # 24 (LYNDON BAINES JOHNSON ) I want to thank the hostess , Chinaz our waitress for the great service as well as the manager that sat with us and told us some of the memories of this fine establishment Thanks... read more

Great atmosphere, perfect service and a breakfast steak that I could(and did) cut with a butter knife. The Lobster Bisque was great and my wife loved her meatloaf
I am very disappointed in the way Billy Martin treats its customers!!!! I have been going there for over 42 years......I had an accident there with an olive pit, resulting in a tooth being pulled. After saying they wanted to do the right thing, 5 weeks later have decided they do not want to do the right thing. Shame on you!
