A Georgetown fixture since the early 1930s, Martin's Tavern leans decisively towards the historical - rather than the trendy - aspect of this neighborhood. The former New York Giants baseball player William G. Martin opened this neighborhood pub in 1933. Today his grandson, Billy Martin runs the family business. Dark wood paneling and touches of hunter green make for an attractive interior. The menu features American and continental classics - steak and seafood as well as pasta served with marinara or alfredo sauces.

Great place, food was fantastic! Service was exceptional! Getting the history of this place explained by A very witty and entertaining gentleman made the night!
We enjoyed the history very much. The food was delicious and plentiful and we recommend it .
You can see why this place has been in business for so long. Great food, drinks and atmosphere. And really genuine and exemplary customer service. Can’t wait to go back!!!!
Historic...JFK proposed to Jackie O. at table 3, every president from Truman to George W. has eaten there, we sat in the LBJ booth
Friendly and relaxed dining with cool staff
A absolute Georgetown treasure and amazing piece of good time history.
Great atmosphere and when asked for a special cocktail the bartender made it, no problem!
If you think you would like to stop in to this historic place to have a drink & look around don't bother. You will quickly be ushered outside where you will then be ignored. My drink was then served to me in a glass that was chipped & cracked. No apologies were made. Look through the window then go somewhere that will appreciate you wanting to stop by.
great history and ambience but the food ws disappointing for the prices.
