The former New York Giants baseball player William G. Martin opened this neighborhood pub in 1933. Today his grandson, Billy Martin runs the family business. Dark wood paneling and touches of hunter green make for an attractive interior. The menu features American and continental classics - steak and seafood as well as pasta served with marinara or alfredo sauces.

RecommendedTons of history there. Bartender was super friendly.
Great location at a venue with some historic significance and stories for sure. Known for JFK’s proposal to Jackie. Food was very good American comfort classics. Service was friendly and fast. Patio was great for an August night in Washington DC.

EXCELLENT in every way!!!!!!!
First time there. Impromptu drop in with my granddaughter. Ate outside in the heat but it was lovely. Had appetizers for dinner, fried green tomatoes, a tomato salad special and mini crab cakes. All was yum. Plus First Lady cocktail. Fun night. The I found d out this is the place Jack Kennedy proposed to Jackie. For a young couple in love great place. 😍

Great experience! Everything was yummy. The best dish on the table was the roast beef!!!! So good! But, the food is dependably scrumptious and the atmosphere and historical significance makes it extraordinary!
