Hygiene issues galore! – I ate here a few years back. I decided that although the prices were cheap, it was disgusting to see a group of employees standing & hovering over a table like pigs at a trough, scarfing down french fries, and wiping their mouths. Then they would immediately run to refill my glass of soda pop- and not wash their hands! Then I had a glass with french fry grease on the outside! Then I used the ladies room and the waitress used the stall next to me. I could see her black apron as she threw it on the dir... read more
Cheery mini-chain specializing in gourmet comfort food, and eclectic take-out. – In Short It's almost like sitting in someone's kitchen--chaotic, communal and appetite-stimulating. Homey dried flowers and hanging baskets feel familiar but the ingredients from this pantry are impressively foreign. Stuffed cases of gourmet goods line the casual-chic dining room, with sturdy wood tables and paneled windows. A vast sandwich selection like the Brie with balsamic and mixed greens are popular items, as are salads like the tangy gre... read more
Like this place BUT had a bad experience – Food is good, great outdoor atmosphere. We Went there for breakfast, my husband and i stepped away for one minute when i came back our drinks were cleared out. (my beverage was a speciality item due to my health). Appraently they threw it in the trash. They never asked to pay for my $5 beverage and still charged my husband for his juice. Just not the type of customer service you expect from a restaurant. Disappointed.
Great drinks!! – Okay I'll be honest I've only been here for Sunday breakfast & for drinks at night. I love it, the design is classy, everyone is extremely friendly. The mimosa's and bloody mary's are perfect for hangover Sundays along with the egg's benedict which unlike Portland (my home) there seem to be very few restaurants in L.A. that serve this glorious breakfast choice. At night its great to sit at the bar, talk to the bartender (who's name I can't remember, but I will say even though I sound like a total a-hole, she... read more
Good food, good service, great ambiance. What else could you ask for? – I?ve been eating at this Marmalade once or twice a week since they opened this location (mostly for breakfast) and have yet to have a bad meal. When friends or family come to visit, we always make it a point to take them to this Marmalade. The menu has something for everyone, the decor is very pleasant, and the service has always been great. Keep up the good work folks.
Edward – This place has great waiters and yes 1/2 are trying to make it into acting but they are pretty good.fast , and curtious . I enloy a good brunch at this place
Great Happy Hour! Huge and diverse menu – Ignore those old reviews. I have been to Marmalade several times over the last year and it is a wonderful, relaxed restaurant. The menu is huge and has something for everyone. The soups are made from scratch and incredibly yummy! Try the Wild Mushroom soup! The Happy Hour is daily from 4-6pm(call to check exact times). Half priced apps and wine specials. Prefect way to start the evening!
Bitchy WAITERS! – Avoid this place - even on an early weekend morning. The waiters hate their job. The food is cold and medicre and way overpriced. Dissappointing!
Loved it! – The bread is served fresh and warm! The salad was really good and the pasta was pretty good too. Nice little cafe feel.
